Port Congestion

Dear Valued Customers;

Coscon UK has received advice from the Port of Felixstowe that, effective immediately, Felixstowe port will not be able to accept empty containers back on quay for the foreseeable future due to, backlog, resource and space availability issues at the Ports terminals.

We are attempting to source alternative options for empty storage in the Felixstowe region and elsewhere, however as a similar notification has been sent to a number of different carriers, storage space for empty containers is not readily available.

Hanjin Shipping Situation

Notice to Customers

Dear Valued Customers;

In reference to media reports stating a potential bankruptcy of Hanjin Shipping.

It has been reported that Hanjin Shipping filed an application for the commencement of rehabilitation proceedings to the Seoul Central District Court on August 31st, 2016.

COSCON are closely monitoring the situation for any further development.

COSCON are prepared in responding to the crisis, and a contingency plan has been activated.

  1. In order to protect our customer’s interest, with immediate effect, COSCON will NOT book cargo on any vessel operated by Hanjin Shipping.
  2. With respect to cargo already booked, not loaded, on vessels operated by Hanjin Shipping, we will arrange smooth transfer to other service or line operated by COSCON or other alliance members. Meanwhile, details of your container(s) will be updated continuously though our company’s website (www.coscon.com) and official WeChat account (cosconlines).
  3. Regarding cargo already on board vessels operated by Hanjin Shipping. COSCON are closely monitoring the situation to ensure your cargo is always protected with quick and safe delivery. With regard to service maintenance. COSCON commits to offer a stable service network together with continued provision of quality service to our valued customers.COSCON as a global carrier, undertakes all Carrier obligations and responsibilities under the governing COSCON Bill of Lading Terms & Conditions, which remain binding in all circumstances.COSCON will do our utmost to coordinate with partner Lines to take necessary actions to minimize any risk, and will provide all necessary assistance to any customers affected by this situation.
