Further update timed at 16:11 hrs from Port of Felixstowe:-

Container Park Operations

Please be advised the previously advised high winds have now moderated to safe working levels for Rail and Container Yard Operations to resume. Some delays are likely as the Port works to recover to normal operational status.

We apologise for any inconvenience this disruption may have caused and we value your understanding as measures are taken to ensure the safety of all Port users.

Port of Felixstowe Weather Warning


Updated information received from Felixstowe Port:-

Container Park Operations

Please be advised we have received a weather forecast which indicates high winds at or above our safe working limits covering the period

from: 12/02/2014 11:00
to : 12/02/2014 21:00

There is a high probability of some disruption to Rail and Yard Operations as a result of these adverse weather conditions.

Winds are forecast to reach 59 mph at Yard crane height during this period.

We will monitor the situation and send a further message if operations are affected; if an updated forecast is received; or if Operation Stack is called.

MV Cosco Harmony Revised Schedule


February 10, 2014

Coscon (UK) are advised the MV Cosco Harmony will not call Felixstowe.

Port of Felixstowe notice confirms as follows:-

All UK cargo will be discharged in Rotterdam and transhipped into Felixstowe on the Cosco Vietnam and Cosco Hope.

Once confirmed amended shipment information will be manifested in destin8 immediately.

Your patience is appreciated during this time.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

This is due to the recent adverse weather and the continued stoppages throughout this week.

There is a high probability of some disruption to Rail and Yard Operations as a result of these adverse weather conditions.

Tuesday 4th : Winds will freshen through the day, as an area of low pressure approaches from the southwest.
Wednesday 5th : Very windy, with winds likely to be above limits throughout.
Thursday 6th : Some strong winds through the day, easing in the evening as low pressure clears to the north. – Unquote.
