High Winds close Terminals
January 30, 2013
Revised 16:27 hrs
Further to the below, the high winds have reached the Midlands where Freightliner & Pentalver Cannock are closed as a result.
Manchester railhead & depot are both working intermittently
Felixstowe Port confirmed closed a short while ago.
Earlier Message posted 13:52 hrs
Please be advised we have a number of depots closed around the UK due to high winds, details as follows:
Manchester – railhead & Maritime depot both closed
Leeds – railhead closed
Liverpool – railhead closed
Teesport quay – closed
Felixstowe quay – has been working however vehicles are now being denied access to the parks & therefore suspect they are either restricted traffic flow pending likely closure or have in fact closed, we are awaiting official notice to confirm from the Port
Forecasts locally suggest we face disruption at the port throughout the rest of the day and into this evening & although winds are expected to ease overnight slightly they are expecting to increase come daylight tomorrow throughout majority of the day.Posted by admin
Port of Felixstowe Weather Warning
January 29, 2013
Port of Felixstowe have experienced two stoppages overnight at Felixstowe Port approx 1700-2200hrs & 0300-0500hrs due to high winds which is obviously causing disruption to road vehicles & misses on rail services.
Although fully operational now we have a weather warning in place for the early afternoon & combined with a planned mass port meeting this evening we are expecting further disruption today.Posted by admin

The port are working to clear the import zones & as each zone is made safe the port will allow hauliers access through the VBS system, they are expecting to have all areas clear & be fully operational later this afternoon.
Felixstowe depots – 86pk & Pentalvers are both operational however other local/non Coscon depots are closed
Inland depots currently closed as follows:
Freightliner Leeds (to empties only)
Freightliner Doncaster – has been closed this morning however has recently reopened to vehicles
Most other depots/ports are currently operational although some are naturally experiencing longer turn around times for vehicles due to the conditions.Posted by admin
