Hazardous Class 9 UN 3166 Amendment

Dear Valued Client;
Coscon confirm that with effect from January 1st 2012, any equipment with an internal combustion engine or vehicle powered by petrol, diesel, gas, flammable liquid, fuel cell, flammable gas etc will be classified as Dangerous – UN number 3166 – on the basis of IMDG amendment number 35. To assess the full extent of this regulation we invite all clients to refer to the latest IMDG publication before placing any booking involving above-mentioned commodities. Although a Special provision (No.961) has been foreseen for the purpose of neutralizing the hazard of fuel and/or batteries, Coscon will not allow any exception on it’s services, and all items classified in IMDG amendment 35 will be treated as dangerous unless the shipper has written confirmation from the Maritime Coast Guards Authority (MCGA) specifying their goods are NON HAZARDOUS.
